THE HARVEST CUP TOURNAMENT

I play travel soccer.  The name of my team is United. On Columbus day weekend, we played the Harvest Cup Tournament.  We played 5 games, won 4, and took 2nd place.

Our team played a total of 5 games in a row. Sean and Dylan were our goalies and they did an amazing job in protecting our net. Liam plays offense and he was the top scorer on our team. He was very tough on the field and was always running as fast as he could to get to the ball. During this tournament, I played offence and ran a lot. We have three girls in our team and they can be really tough and run hard.

 

We won 4 games out of 5. We won a game by scoring 6 goals. Some of the teams we played against were really good and the games were tough. Other teams were not so good, and the games were a little bit easier. There was a team who fought very physically against us and that was really a hard game. I got pushed by one of the other team player, but I fought back because I did not want to lose the ball.

We tried our hardest to win the championship but we didn't. Our opponents in the final had more energy and more stamina than us. They scored 5 times and we scored only 1. We won 2nd place. Our team had a great support group in our parents. There were loud, very loud and they were always cheering us on. The parents organized a tent with food and refreshments of us in between games, and all my teammates loves the cut oranges, especially Catherine: she could not get enough of them!!

 

I felt happy because we all got trophies and I got a picture of myself holding the 2nd place cup of the Harvest Cup Tournament, organized by the Washingtonville Soccer Club. 

Reading is Fun!

His name is Stilton, Geronimo Stilton. He is a mouse and the publisher of "The Rodent's Gazette", the most famous newspaper on Mouse Island. He likes cheese and he likes to write about adventures. However, he hates being in an adventure, cats and flying with planes. His problem is his family and friends. They always convince him to go with them on crazy adventures. His grandfather William is the boss of the newspaper and he is feared by Geronimo. Geronimo has a sister named Thea. She is a special correspondent at The Rodent's Gazette and she loves to drive motocycles. His cousin Trap likes to play tricks on him and he is not a very sophisticated mouse. Benjamin is Geronimo's favourite nephew and he is the youngest of the group. If Benjamin is involved in the adventure, Geronimo is not able to say no to him.

 

This is an example of an adventure that Geronimo Stilton survived.

 

Geronimo went to Japan because his friend Bruce Hyena and his cousin Shorty Tao signed him up in a karate championship. Geronimo did not know anything about karate so he had to be trained by his friend, as the tournament was only a week away. The training was so intense that Geronimo was able to learn and with some luck, he won the tournament. He was able to get in shape without any enhancement pills, like his competitors did. After the event there many celebrations in New Mouse Island. It was such an honour for Geronimo because the mayor of the city was at the celebration.

 

I really liked this book. The story was filled with surprises and suspense. I really hope you will be able to read it . The title is "The Karate Mouse" by Scholastic from the Geronimo Stilton Series.

An Astronaut who discovers Superpowers!

This is the story about an astronaut who discovers he has superpowers. Once an astronaut named Boo went on a space adventure. Boo knew everything about planet Earth, but he didn't know about himself. For example, he never knew that he was a baby! One day, Boo was working on an engine that broke, when his captain called him to the Command Center. Boo got there and his captain informed him that he had to fly to the International Space Station. A satellite's shield was broken and Boo needed to fix it before a meteor hit it. Boo wanted to go right away but to his disamy the rocket was not ready. Boo had to take different rocket. This different rocket was special, because it would give super powers to anyone who went in it. After eight hours, Boo got to the International Space Station and the meteor was halfway there. He started the repairs on the satellite's shield. He was almost finished when the satellite had a frightning overload so the shield would not work until it would be completely charged. That ment the meteor will hit! Boo was scared. Right when the meteor was about to hit the satellite, Boo moved his hands to the right, in the direction of planet Mars. The meteor missed the satellite and went crashing to Mars. Right then the shield was completely charged and Boo could go back home. Once Boo got back to the Command Center, his captain thanked him and invited everybody to have a feast in the twilight. This is the story of an astronaut who discovers he has superpowers.

One gloomy day...

One gloomy day, I was in my house playing video games, and I went in my bedroom upstairs. There I saw my sister and she was sad. I asked her, "What is the matter?"  Emma said "I can't find my blue Thomas toy".  "OK! I will look for it", I responded. I searched the whole upstairs and I could not find it either. Then, I found a map. I thought the map would lead me to the toy.  I followed the map and entered the living room. I did not find Emma's toy there. I searched the kitchen, the bathroom, the guest room, the pantry and the entrance. I did not find Emma's toy. I looked carefully at the map and it lead me outside into the garage. I look really good in the garage and I found another piece of map that lead me to the basement. After checking the basement, I found the blue Thomas toy in the dryer. My mom washed it because it was dirty!! I found Emma's blue Thomas toy and that is my story in a gloomy day!
